Colorado for Equal Rights Personhood Amendment from Personhood USA on Vimeo.
Please help spread the word. Because a person is a person, no matter how small.

I’m posting this short video again as I want to keep it in the forefront of your mind as you pray for the elections and for those of you in Colorado, as you vote.

The Amendment Question #48 is as follows:

“Shall there be an amendment to the Colorado constitution defining the term “person” to include any human being from the moment of fertilization as “person” is used in those provisions of the Colorado constitution relating to inalienable rights, equality of justice, and due process of law?”

Please vote Yes on 48!

The proposed language change is:

Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Colorado:

SECTION 1. Article II of the constitution of the state of Colorado is amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read:

Section 31. Person defined. As used is section 3,6 and 25 of Article II of the state constitution, the terms “person” or “persons” shall include any human being from the moment of fertilization.

  1. Are you willing to punish a woman with the death penalty or life in prison for aborting a non-viable ectopic pregnancy? That’s what Amendment 48 would require, for even that fertilized egg would be a person with full legal rights — and to kill it would be murder under Colorado law.Amendment 48 is deeply, profoundly anti-life — because embryos are NOT persons. For the details, read “Amendment 48 Is Anti-Life: Why It Matters That a Fertilized Egg Is Not a Person,” an issue paper by Ari Armstrong and myself. It’s available for download at: http://www.SecularGovernment.us/docs/a48.pdfDiana HsiehFounder, Coalition for Secular Governmenthttp://www.seculargovernment.us

  2. Is an unfertilized egg any less a chicken? The egg and sperm are separate parts of human physiology, and connected make up a human.A person is a person BEFORE conception in God’s eyes. David spoke of the plans from God before he was conceived. This Amendment is to stop the murder of millions of babies each year due to immaturity and misinformation given to young and selfish mothers who don’t understand even the scientific definitions of “life”. It is not intended to punish the mothers who have tubal pregnancies, or other medical issues that will kill the fetus, the mother, or both.Partial-birth abortions happen more often than anyone wishes to talk about, and this Amendment is designed to save those babies. Once they are out of the womb, they are people…what changed, really? Nothing but living arrangements. Babies are people in the womb. All cells and tissue are LIFE, and an embryo is a growing group of cells… every bit as alive and human as a carrot is a carrot when it is a little root in the ground. When you divide by technical terms, you deceive yourself. Willingly removing life from a mother’s body is MURDER. This Amendment is only seeking to define it properly.

  3. Diana – this is not about punishing women who are pregnant. A pregnancy is a blessing. Not a punishment. An ectopic pregnancy is not a viable pregnancy. It has never been wrong or punishable to abort an ectopic pregnancy – even before Roe V. Wade.A fertilized is is a viable person. Once fertilized, there are only one of two outcomes – male or female.I appreciate all points of view. Thanks for sharing Diana. Chelf – thanks so much for your awesome response. I am in the hospital with my family working – Heather and Baby Jake are doing very well and just out of surgery. The kidney is pink and in good shape.

The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. - Psalm 34:19
