Sharensharensharen Song by Robbie Iobst

This is priceless! Robbie Iobst wrote and sang this song to Sharen Watson at her farewell party. We were all in stitches. I only caught the last two verses.

Sharen’s Song
By Robbie Iobst

Every Tuesday morning
We see the kindest gal,
And now that’s she’s leaving,
We’ll miss that Texas smile.

But more than her teeth
And her big ole Texas hair,
We’ll miss the chocolate
That she wants to push…I mean share!

Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen…Sharen!

There’ll be Words For The Journey in Houston,
And Starbucks decaf vanilla chai tea,
Gia and Ray are also going,
She’ll be near Scot and Shawna and Steve.

But she’ll miss teaching adjunctive clauses,
And telling us (laugh) “Ya’ll settle down!”
The cheers for courageous rejections,
And 3 hours lunches at the Lighthouse.

Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen…Sharen!

So every Tuesday morning,
We’ll miss the kindest gal,
Now that she’s leaving,
We’ll miss that Texas smile,

So here are some words for your journey,
Before we say goodbye,
May our Lord bless you and keep you,
And anoint every word you write!

Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen,
Sharen, Sharen, Sharen, Sharen…Sharen!

  1. What a fun song! I knew Robbie ws a writer, but didn’t know she also wrote songs! :)Goodbye to Sharen. I know you all will miss her.Hugs. Mom

  2. I am not a big fan of my voice – sounds like a cross between a bad Dolly Parton impersonator and a screeching owl – however I committed to it!:0) The most important thing was that Sharen was blessed! I am not taking bookings so please no one ask…No, I am serious, no one try to bribe me with large amounts of money to sing at your party. Won’t happen. No. Well, maybe if the price is right. :0)

  3. It was a blast and we are (including you Kay) silly people!Good for us…Where ever we go, that’s where the party is…Loretta

  4. That is so cute! YOu are going to miss her so much, but you have such a great group of friends. How fun!:0) sharon
